Three Minneapolis-based law firms have received a 100 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign in its annual Corporate Equality Index. The annual rating evaluates the policies and practices of companies related to the treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.
Dorsey & Whitney, Faegre & Benson and Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi all received the rating. The three firms, along with close to 70 more nationwide, will be included in a “Best Places to Work” list compliled by the Human Rights Campaign. Hinshaw & Culbertson, which has a Minneapolis office, also received a 100 pecent rating.
The firms are evaluated on several different criteria, including whether the companies have a written non-discrimination policy, training on sexual orientation and gender identity, insurance for transgender-related treatment and benefits for same-sex partners of employees, among others.
