Preet Bharara Now 79 for 79 on Insider-Trading Cases

Following a jury’s conviction Thursday of former SAC Capital Advisors LP portfolio manager Mathew Martoma, Wall Street’s top prosecutor Preet Bharara is 79 for 79 on insider trading cases during his tenure as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. Since August 2009, 79 individuals prosecuted by the Southern District for insider trading have either pleaded guilty or have been convicted by a jury. Fifty-eight of those individuals have been sentenced, and 10 cases are still pending.
